Today is the first day that seniors may complete the FAFSA for the 2021-2022 school year. In order to be eligible for financial aid of any kind (university granted scholarships/grants/student loans) you MUST have a completed FAFSA! Both the student and a parent must create an FSA ID and complete their portion on the FAFSA. Students, make sure you keep your login information somewhere safe and somewhere that you will be able to find it again. You will have to complete the FAFSA each year that you are in college. Anyone with questions may ask for assistance from any faculty member in the counseling office!
EOC testing will take place from April 23rd-25th. The testing schedule will be as follows:
April 23rd: Algebra I 8:30-10:30 and 12:30-2:30 April 24th: English II 8:30-10:30 and 12:30-2:30 April 25th: Biology I 8:30-10:30 Government 12:30-2:30 These End of Course exams are required by the state of Missouri as part of the graduation requirements established by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. These exams also help us to determine how we can modify our lessons and content to better teach our students! Please make sure that your students are getting plenty of sleep the nights before exams and that they are eating a nutritious breakfast each day. Please encourage your students to do their best on these exams! What many students do not realize until it is too late, is that their Algebra I EOC score is tied to the A+ program. In order to be eligible for the A+ scholarship after high school, students must earn at least proficient on their Algebra I EOC. If students do not score proficient, then they must have a certain score on the math portion of the ACT in order to regain eligibility for the A+ scholarship. Please call the counseling office with any questions or concerns you may have. We are getting close to the end of the year! Keep encouraging your students to do their best! The Medical Explorers program is open to all students ages 15-20. Through this program, students are able to log shadowing hours in the medical field at Cox Branson (and Spfd if they would like). There is a vast array of careers and disciplines in the hospital that students may have access to. The Medical Explorers students will have the opportunity to have rotations in the ER, TCAD, Labor and Delivery, Clinical Care, Radiology, Urgent Care, and more!
The students are able to log their rotation hours based on what works best with their schedule- even if it is just one hour every now and then. Students are able to schedule their rotations for after school and on the weekends. The deadline to enroll in this program is Sept. 28th at 4pm. For more information, visit Coxhealth.com
